ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Dr. Tiffany O’Connor

The professional stuff: I completed my MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology, at Simon Fraser University. My clinical residency was through Hamilton Health Sciences' Clinical Neuropsychology program.

In addition to my practice, I work as a clinical neuropsychologist in acquired brain injury rehabilitation at Hamilton Health Sciences. I also hold a part-time faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.

The meaningful stuff: My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. Together we will figure out which issues matter most, and then my job is to provide the skills and structure to help make it happen! My practice is neuro-affirming, 2SLGBTQI+ affirming, and queer-friendly.

The extra stuff: Outside of work, I enjoy being active, getting outside, spending time with my family and friends, and recharging in a dark room :)

THE DETAILS

Frequently asked
questions

A few practical details about getting started and what to expect.

Who do you work with?

I offer individual virtual therapy for adults and older adults who are located in Ontario.

Are sessions online or in person?

Sessions are online only. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a private place where you feel comfortable talking.

What is the cost?

Therapy fees are $250 per 50 minute session. I also offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.

What happens during the consultation?

We’ll briefly discuss what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and explore whether my approach is a good fit for your needs.

What is the benefit of working with a neuropsychologist?

A neuropsychologist has specialized training in how brain functioning relates to thinking, emotions, and behaviour. Therapy can focus on the impact of health and neurological conditions, and/or can be adapted to the individual's strengths and weaknesses (e.g., maybe therapy takes more time, skills are individualized, things are explained in a different way, barriers to therapy are worked on directly).

Do you offer neuropsychological assessments?

Neuropsychological assessments are not currently offered through this practice.
